Access to Jobs is a LEARNTech Asia webinar series that gives insight into in-demand job markets for young and experienced professionals looking for new career opportunities.
The disrupted labor market impacted by the fourth industrial revolution is further undermined by the global health crisis. A shift in the division of labor between humans and machines could displace an estimated 85 million jobs by 2025. But the transformation will also give rise to 97 million new roles. The increasing speed of digital transformation is hurtling us towards adopting a new way of work and life.
Changes in demand patterns in the labor market have pushed many in the workforce to consider changing career paths. As the unemployment rate in Southeast Asia hit new highs, some emerging sectors cannot find enough skilled professionals to fill roles.
This demand and supply mismatch highlights the need for acquiring knowledge and skills that can help access jobs where demand is significant and expected to grow. LEARNTech Asia’s Access to Jobs series aims to serve as a platform that supports talent in building new capabilities that meet the dynamic requirements of industries.
This series is inspired by the Singapore Together movement launched by the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore Heng Swee Keat to tackle the unemployment rate and revive the country’s economy after the pandemic. EdTech players are also working to guide learners within the workforce to upskill and reskill.
One of the initiatives is to call upon industry leaders to act on seven key growth areas for Singapore, sustainability being one of them. LEARNTech Asia is answering the government’s call to join the collective effort to benefit Singapore and the ASEAN region.
We invite experts from different industries to share their knowledge and vision on current and future job opportunities, and to share strategies for human capital development.
